Asian group of cats, also known as the Burmilla cat, is a cross between the Burmese and Chinchilla longhair /Persian cat, and was created by random mating of purple Burmese females and male chinchilla in London in 1981 year. In 1984 was established a club of fans of Burmilla cats.
The first litter were Burmese cats, and in the beginning the goal was to breed the Burmese with Burmilla, every second generation, in order to improve the genetic base. Although Burmilla cat basically has the same origin as the long-haired cat Tiffany, the GCCF in 1989 recognized the beautiful Burmilla cat as a separate breed, and FIF did the same in 1994.The Asian group was the first breed standard that allowed the allocation of points for temperament.
Therefore, Burmilla cat will certainly be more and more popular, not only because of its good looks, but also because of the very good nature, which makes it ideal pets.
The most striking features of Burmilla cats is their dark -rimmed eyes and the way their pads on the nose are trimmed and the cats look like they just stepped out of some beauty salon.
Burmilla Cat, include shaded and chinchilla (tipped) cats. Although the color intensity can be reduced by silver striped cat, there should always exist at least two darker stripes on each hair.
The original one colored Burmilla cats are called “Bombay” – glossy black. The name of this color should not be confused with the Bombay breed, which is a separate breed such as the type of cat.
Their beautiful eyes are somewhere between round and almond-shaped, and are of beautiful green color. Burmilla cats have a strong body with a slightly rounded head and rather large and widely spaced ears, slightly curved outwards.
Their legs are of medium length – the back a little longer than the front – with oval paws. Long tail, which tapers to a rounded point, usually is elegantly kept and slightly raised. The hair is short and fine, lying close to the body, and also very soft and dense.
It is a cross-breed of Burmese and Persian cat. Burmilla Cats have active, muscular yet elegant bodies and have two coat lengths – semi- long hair and short hair. The Burmillas are irreverent and independent cats and their temperament is quite exceptional. They are easygoing and have laid back personality that makes them playful, sociable and affectionate. They are ideal for singles, families, and elderly. This breed do not require regular grooming. This cat is quite demanding and often follows its owners around and cry for their attention. They often spoke as if they understand and answer. They are sensitive to their owner’s feeling and this makes them excellent companions.
