The Asian Semi-longhair cats are very similar to Asian Shorthair cat breed with the difference that they have longer fur. This cat breed is also known as Tiffany cats. The same as the Asian Shorthair cat breed, this one has been developed in Britain, and at this moment it is still not recognized by any US registry which means that they can’t be taken to competitions. From the other side, this cat breed is recognized by the GCCF – The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy.
The Asian Semi-longhair cats were developed in Britain in 1980s. Since they were as well very similar to Burmese cats, this cat breed was created as a mix between Asian Shorthair cats and Burmese cats.
The Asian Semi-Longhair cats are of medium size. They have fine and silky coats. Some of the most usual colours are blue, brown, black, lilac and chocolate and occasionally red. Their fur has a very luxurious sheen and the undercoat is normally white. They also have a very long tail with woolly plume which makes them look even more attractive.
The Asian Semi-Longhair cats are very bright and very charming cats. This cat breed is also very playful and curious. Since they are capable of learning fast, they are also excellent family pets and they get along very well with other animals except with other cats in some cases, as they have a tendency of being jealous. They are said to be very similar to pet dogs as they also like to play fetch. The Asian Semi-Longhair cats are very devoted animals that love to snuggle and love to be in the heaps of attention. However, they are not recommended for very small apartments as they can be very vocal.
These cats are very sensitive and are prone to all the illnesses. Because of this, it is recommended that their owner takes them very often to the veterinarian. Also, regular worming needs to be undertaken. Vaccination against common feline diseases is recommended. The Asian Semi-Longhair cats need regular grooming and nail clipping done in order to keep them in good condition.
The Asian Semi-longhair cat is also popularly known as the Tiffany or the Tiffanie. It is a very cute and gentle cat. It is very active and it loves playing. They love their owners too much that the Asian Semi-longhair cat can get jealous when there are other cats around. They need a lot of time and attention from their owners. They are a bit noisy so it may pose a problem if you live in a rather small apartment or with people who cannot tolerate such noise. It is a small cat with long fur that requires regular grooming. It was created when a male Chinchilla and a female Burmese mated.
